The Nigerian Flamingos have defeated the USA U-17 team 4-3 via penalties to advance to the semifinals of the U-17 FIFA World Cup after a 1-1 draw.

The Americans were favourites going into the tie, but the Flamingos showed great zeal to seal a spot in the next round

It’s the first time the Flamingos advanced to the semifinal of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup. A new record.

Edafe scored the game’s first goal from the penalty spot to send Nigeria to a first ever semifinal.
