In a bid to curb the problem of delays during cargo delivery and other freight-related services, a Nigerian firm, OnePort 365 has launched a native tech solution that will speed up freight management in the country.
“Booking a freight service should be as easy as booking a plane ticket,” the company’s founder, Hio Sola Usidame, said. “One key challenge faced by entrepreneurs is the delay in the freighting process, that is, the time it takes to gate-in to the port. This delay can be a major concern when handling perishable commodities.”
He also blamed this delay on the “manual” and “extensive documentation processes” involved in booking a freight service.
Usidame spoke at a virtual media parley held in, Lagos at its Marina headquarters. The event was hosted by Mr. Yomi Owope, who introduced OnePort 365 to the media representatives in attendance.
The media parley enabled OnePort365 to re-introduce and align itself with the media and as well educate on services offerings, platform updates, products, and partnerships.
Those who participated in the media parley were Core members of OnePort 365’s team namely; Hio Sola Usidame, Co-founder; Dolapo Fasina, Marketing, and Communications Manager; Morenike Jaiyesimi, Operations Manager; Olasunkanmi Olaniyan, Finance Manager; Seni Kester, HR Manager; Foluke Shaba, Sales Manager; Adebayo Adewunmi, Lead Software Developer and other members of the press.
Usidame Explained that Nigerians stand to gain from the innovation which typically “automates the import and export freight process.”
He said, “Customers can easily take control of their shipment processes with the help of cutting-edge technology. OnePort 365 also eases the documentation process for customers as they offer a personalised dashboard that allows them to manage it.
“The safety of customers’ containers is a priority for OnePort 365. Often containers are lost in transit and there is no visibility, some of them are worth a fortune and are unaccounted for. OnePort 365’s tracking system enables customers to track and monitor their goods in real-time.”
Founded in 2019, OnePort 365’s mission is to facilitate the seamless delivery of containerized cargo and other freight management services for its customers. OnePort 365 strives to usher in a radical change that enhances Africa’s participation in global trade with a complete systemic transformation.

‘OnePort 365 Digital Freight Processes’
Through digitisation, the company optimizes freight processes for businesses which enables them to improve operational efficiency for scalable growth and cash flow. Although there are glaring opportunities within the industry, there are still several unresolved challenges.
Sola-Usidame highlighted some of the inefficiencies businesses and entrepreneurs face that requires freight services. He expressed that even though the issue of theft has not been completely eradicated, new ways to curb this challenge are being invented and one of such processes is finding a balance in the number of middlemen involved in trade processes which has proven effective to a large extent
He further explained that Technology has played a key role to minimize theft and vandalism in freight management, through the use of functional scanners in ports and terminals. These technologies also involve systems that help with tracking of cargos to avoid goods being unaccounted for, this also allows customers to monitor their goods as they transit.
“Technology doesn’t have to be expensive. It becomes costly only if the process behind the technology is handled by inexperienced hands. We are well experienced in the traditional space, so we identified and knew the bottleneck before digitizing the freight process”
Dolapo Fasina, also added that Technology brings a level of transparency, and where there is transparency, cost can be anticipated ahead of time.
