Operatives of the Lagos State Police have arrested six persons allegedly involved in the attack of Ikorodu monarch, Oba Raji Olukayode at his Isiu palace on Friday September 4 this year.
Olukayode was allegedly attacked for the second time at his Isiu palace on Friday by armed hoodlums, who are suspected to be loyalists to his rival, Prince Yinusa Jimoh.
Following the attack that left 60 persons injured and hospitalised, the state police have arrested six suspects so far. Two suspects were arrested same Friday September 4, another two were nabbed on Saturday September 5, and another two on Sunday September 6.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed that six suspects are currently in custody and the command is already going after Prince Yinusa.
He said: “No one was killed. It was an issue between the newly crowned Oba and his competitor to the throne, Prince Yinusa Jimoh.
“Two suspects were arrested on September 4, two on September 5, and another two on September 6. We have not gotten Yinusa yet but the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has directed that all those involved in the fracas be arrested. We will get them all,” he noted.
