Qualcomm, a leading global wireless technology firm, has opened applications for the latest edition of its Make in Africa Startup Mentorship Programme. This initiative is designed to support early-stage startups in Africa, providing them with the necessary tools and guidance to succeed.

The programme is part of Qualcomm’s African Innovation Platform, which was launched in December 2022. The platform aims to identify and support promising startups in Africa, particularly those focused on applying advanced connectivity and processing technologies to innovative solutions.

Through the Make in Africa Startup Mentorship Programme, selected startups will gain access to business coaching, engineering consultation for product development, and guidance on protecting intellectual property. This equity-free mentorship program is the first of its kind in Africa, making it a unique opportunity for startups to grow and develop.

The programme is open to early-stage startups in Africa, and applications are accepted until February 16, 2025. The programme will take place between April and December 2025, with a demo day scheduled for December 2025.

One of the key benefits of the programme is the opportunity for startups to receive mentorship from Qualcomm leaders. This one-on-one mentorship will provide startups with valuable guidance and support, helping them to navigate the challenges of building a successful business.

In addition to mentorship, startups will also have access to masterclasses on product management, pitch clinics, and intellectual property protection. These resources will help startups to develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

The Make in Africa Startup Mentorship Programme is a significant opportunity for African startups to access the support and resources they need to grow and develop. With Qualcomm’s expertise and guidance, startups will be able to take their businesses to the next level.

The programme is also an important step in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa. By supporting startups and providing them with the resources they need to succeed, Qualcomm is helping to drive economic growth and development in the region.

Overall, the Make in Africa Startup Mentorship Programme is an exciting opportunity for African startups. With its unique combination of mentorship, masterclasses, and resources, the programme has the potential to make a significant impact on the startup ecosystem in Africa.

As the programme prepares to launch its latest edition, startups across Africa are encouraged to apply and take advantage of this unique opportunity. With Qualcomm’s support and guidance, the next generation of African startups is poised to make a significant impact on the global stage.
