It was quite the sight, yesterday, as a Lagos-bound aircraft coming from Owerri encountered a bird strike a few minutes after take-off.
Head of Communications, Air Peace airlines, Stanley Olisa confirmed the incident in a statement.
The spokesman disclosed that the parameters of one of the engines was seriously affected.
The pilot diverted to Port-Harcourt, safely landed the aircraft and the passengers disembarked.
“We have dispatched a rescue team and aircraft to airlift the passengers of the affected flight”, Olisa noted.
The statement assured of the airline’s commitment to the highest standards of safety.
