The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other emergency agencies are currently on ground to avoid combustion after a truck, Wednesday, spilled its chemical contents on Ikorodu Road, Beside Maryland mall, Lagos.
The truck was said to have spilled its contents on Maryland road but spread to Mende along Ikorodu road.
According to the state fire service, the truck fell overnight but respondents like LASEMA and the Lagos Safety Commission are currently on ground to contain the situation.
They poured foam material on the road to prevent combustion. “Nothing to be scared of. Lagos safety commission and LASEMA are on ground”.
Speaking to LagosToday, a source with the emergency agency on the scene of the incident, said the agency had taken some samples of the spilled contents for testing after road users complained.
The source adds, “The content causes itching, burns and rashes. We have taken samples to know what exactly we are dealing with. We are still on the road where the container fell.”
