A young woman, Onyinyechukwu Taiwo, has accused her partner, John James, of allegedly abducting their two sons aged four and one, respectively, in the Ajangbadi axis of Lagos.
She reported that James eloped with their children to his girlfriend’s residence.
Taiwo narrated that she and James had been cohabiting as partners, never married, since 2014.
“He beat, and sent me packing about a month now, and took my two sons to his girlfriend’s place.
“The first time he beat me was when I prepared akara and he said it was moi-moi I was supposed to prepare,” she added while noting that she lost her father two days ago.
While explaining that they were never legally joined as man and wife, Taiwo said, “His attitude towards me changed after my parents told him to come pay the marriage rites”.
Taiwo decried, “Now, he took my children to his girlfriend’s place at Iyana-Osun, the girlfriend called to insult and threaten me.
“I went to him to ask for my children, and he beat me so much until I bled from my mouth and nose.
She pleaded for the help of relevant authorities, including child protection workers to assist her in recovering her children.
