Local divers in Lekki area of Lagos are currently searching for the body of 23 years old David Awodele, who got drowned at Mega Mound Lekki County Homes on Saturday May 16 this year.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, Oguntayo Kolawole of 9 Kehinde Anifowoshe Street Olota, Abule-Egba Lagos reported at the Ajah Police Station on Sunday May 17 this year at 09:40am that his apprentice Awodele got drowned at Mega Mound Lekki County Homes Dredging Area.
According to a colleague of the deceased, Muyiwa Ogundele, when Awodele told them of his plans to go swimming, he was dissuaded.
Meanwhile, the only items found of the deceased are his clothes and palm-sandals at the water side.
“Local divers have been contacted to search for his body. Effort is still on to recover the body,” the police noted
