According to police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, the suspects were almost lynched by angry mob in the area before they were eventually rescued by officers on patrol in the area.

The suspects are Gbolahan Adebowale, 18 and Quadri Giwa Ajina, 21. One Barretta pistol was recovered from them. The police boss in Lagos, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects be moved to the state Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, for further investigation.
