The Lagos State Government said it would commence COVID-19 vaccination of the pensioners in the state.
The Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions, Ajibola Ponnle, in a statement on Monday said the state government was aware of the vulnerability of the elderly to the COVID-19 infection, the constraints and efforts to obtain and secure the vaccine, hence the governor’s approval of the request of the state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners for pensioners to benefit from the COVID-19 vaccination.
Ponle, who noted that pensioners that are 70 years and above would be considered for the vaccination, said, “Pensioners are requested to visit the primary health care centre nearest to them to be vaccinated.”
