The Lagos State Government has teamed up with United Arab Emirates (UAE), to construct a world-class Lagos Cultural Heritage Centre at Ijon, Ayobo-Ipaja in Alimosho Local Government Area of the state
Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf inspected the site with the Lagos Consulate General of UAE, Economic and Media Researcher, Hashim Ali Abdallah, Consular and Citizens Affairs, Muhammed Basheer Raji and Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Saanu Bonu; Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Investments, Solape Hammond and Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Shakiru Yusuf.
The commissioner said: “This project will be one of the landmark achievements of this administration. Above all, it will strategically thrive and boost economic prosperity and further increase the Internal Generated Revenue of the state in particular.
“As we are all aware that Lagos represents Excellence in all sectors of human endeavours, we will continue to maintain this standard towards achieving the THEMES agenda of Governor Sanwo-Olu.”
She further disclosed that the centre will nurture the expression of the ways of Lagos especially the host community, Ijon, that will be passed on from generation to generation, including customs, practices, places, objects, and artistic expression.
Abdallah expressed the readiness of his country to see to the expeditious completion of the cultural centre.
