The Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC) has sealed 6 lounges and night clubs in Ikeja as part of its 2022 Zero Accident Campaign (ZAC).
The campaign aimed to ensure that all work places and public facilities were safe for all visitors and workers alike.
The Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State Safety Commission, Lanre Mojola decried that the action on some bar, lounges and night clubs became necessary due to their contravention to the state government’s regulations despite several efforts to ensure complaints.
Mojola, in a statement sad the failure of these establishments to obtain a safety compliance certificates, register with the safety commission through its www.lasgsafetyreg.com-portal, lack of fire extinguishers, poor hygiene, and house keeping, lack of safety signages and also inadequate parking space thereby causing traffic gridlocks and other safety infractions, led to their closure.
He reiterated that similar enforcement exercises would take place across the state as the Lagos State Safety Commission would continue to discharge her duties, especially when implementing the laws of the Commission towards a safer Lagos for all.
The Director-General implored all business entities to regularise their safety management documentation towards achieving safer public places across the state.
