Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi-Adesipe has raised an alarm concerning scammers using her image and name on Facebook.
The actress, who disclosed recently that she had lupus, mentioned that fraudulent individuals were taking advantage of her situation.
She also decried the use of her name and image against her consent on Facebook, as she warned her fans to beware of impersonators.
Sharing screenshots from clone Facebook pages, Afolabi said, “It has come to my notice that some malicious individuals are taking advantage of my situation by using my name and image against my consent on Facebook.
“I am Kemi Afolabi/Afolabi Kemi on Facebook. I hereby beckon on all my fans and lovers to disregard and report these impersonators.
“Let’s ensure that unsuspecting individuals do not fall victim to fraud from these impersonators. Thank you.”
In a recent interview with show host, Chude Jideonwo, the actress had disclosed that the doctor said she had five years to live after being diagnosed with lupus.
According to her, she had lived just one year after the doctor’s pronouncement, as she tearfully noted that she didn’t know how much she had left.
It was gathered that the actress had prepared for death after being diagnosed with a certain incurable disease.
The actress last Friday had disclosed that she had an her ‘incurable’ ailment and diagnosed with lupus.
She said, “I have lupus. It’s not curable. You just have to take medications for the rest of your life.”
She noted that she paid N1.2m on a treatment yet it did not work as she continually cried in pain.
Quoting her doctor she said, “Make sure you are with your loved ones. At least, you still have up to five years.”
