Suspected armed robbers, on Saturday, invaded the Queen’s College in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, killing a security guard during a raid on the premises.
The sad incident took place early hours on Saturday at the college’s premises in Apata, Ido Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the suspected robbers, who were armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the premises at about 1:00 am.
Eyewitnesses said the security guards tried to resist the armed robbers but could not march the fireworks of the bandits as one of them was felled by the bullets.
According to one of the eyewitnesses, who did not want his name in print, the armed robbers engaged in sporadic shooting to scare the residents and the neighbourhood guards.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the killing and said investigation is still ongoing and update would be provided accordingly.
