The Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of surveyors (NIS), Lagos State branch, Surv. Olukolade Kasim (Fnis), has stressed the need for more women to embrace the Surveying profession just as he commended Women-In-Surveying (WIS) Lagos State Branch for it’s efforts at bringing the surveying profession to the front burner.

Kasim stated this, in an opening speech he delivered at the WIS Lagos State Bi-Annual Congress held at Alausa, Ikeja.

According to him, WIS which is a Subgroup of the NIS has over the years, distinguished itself as a worthy entity that needed to be emulated by other women professional bodies in the built environment’.

She said, “the core of women in surveying is centred around ‘our aims and objectives’, adding that ‘we are a community of professionals committed to empowering women in the surveying field, promoting gender equality and encouraging diversity within our industry’. Through various outreach programmes, membership initiatives and educational campaigns, we have contributed significantly to the growth and development of our community.”
