Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has pleaded not guilty to the amended 20-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Emefiele entered his “not guilty” plea during his re-arraignment at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama, Abuja, on Friday.
But he urged the court through his defence team to be allowed to continue to enjoy the bail earlier granted him by the court.
The prosecution did not object to the request.
Presiding judge, Justice Hamza Muazu granted Emefiele’s request.
He adjourned the matter till the 12th and 13th of February for trial.
