The Lagos State Government, in line with its commitments to provide free Health Insurance coverage for Pensioners in the State for one year through the EKO Social Health Alliance (EKOSHA), has extended the registration of its Retirees on ILERA EKO for an additional two weeks.

The two-week extension which will start on Monday, 22nd July, 2024, will now end on Friday, 2nd August, 2024.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, who disclosed this recently in Alausa, Ikeja, said that the extension became necessary following the huge turnout of Pensioners at the various registration centres after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu mentioned it during the launch of ILERA EKO Standard Jaara and commissioning of five ILERA EKO Virtual Booths held at Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island.

She reminded Pensioners in the State who are yet to register not to hesitate to visit any of the 57 Local Government Areas/Local Council Development Areas closer to their residences and register with the EKOSHA Field Officers stationed at the LGAs/LCDAs.

Dr. Zamba reiterated that Pensioners who are registering on ILERA EKO for the first time should come to the registration centre with their Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) Identification Card and Letter of Appointment while those who have earlier registered but whose premium has expired, should come with their ILERA EKO Policy Number for renewal.

Commending Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for extending this support to Pensioners in the State, the Permanent Secretary added that any Pensioner who registered before 25th July, 2024, will commence access to care from their chosen Hospital from the first week of August 2024 and those who register after 25th July, 2024, they will also commence access to care from the first week in September, 2024.

Dr. Zamba disclosed that Pensioners will enjoy all the benefits covered under ILERA EKO free for one-year courtesy of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the treatment of malaria, typhoid, chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension and asthma including their monthly drug refill as well as surgeries such as Herniorapphy and Appendectomy.

The Permanent Secretary urged Pensioners to call or send WhatsApp message to Khadijat Bello on 07042357243 or Mojisola Ojo on 08036357044 for further information or clarification, adding that Pensioners can also call LASHMA 24/7 Customer Service Lines: 0800-ASKLASHMA (0800-275527462) or 0700-ILERAEKO (0700- 46372356) or send WhatsApp message ONLY to 07046160051.

Dr. Zamba promised that the Agency would not relent in its efforts to ensure that customers have satisfaction with ILERA EKO and that the Lagos State Government, achieves its Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Recall that the registration of Pensioners on ILERA EKO through the EKOSHA arm of LASHMA, initially commenced on Monday, 8th July, 2024.
