The President, Muhammadu Buhari, has on Thursday approved N13bn for the take-off of Community Policing in the country in a bid to rejig the security architecture in the country and deliver a more effective policing.
At today’s NEC meeting, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, charged governors, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Finance Minister and the Inspector General of Police to work out how the funds would be well utilised to ensure an effective implementation of Community Policing in the country, then report to NEC.
Specifically, the VP said the governors would be represented at this consultations by the NGF chair and two others, adding that there is no relenting in securing.
