Six youths selected across the Alimosho Constituency in Lagos received N50,000 Naira cash prizes, yesterday, for emerging winners of the Leadership Training Programme organised for young people in the area.
Emerging as the Overall Best Participant was Adelakun Babatunde, out of the 100 youths that participated in the week long training and competition.
The other runners-up were Odusanya Tolulope, Titiloye David, Anosike Mary-Angela, Awotile Akeem, Uka Oluwaseun and Badamassi E. Pelumi.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, charged the winners to collaborate on ideas and recommendations that would contribute positively to the development of youths.
The Commissioner, who is also the Convener of the training programme tagged “Moremi Youth Development Programme” (MYDP ’20), challenged the outstanding participants at the training to step out with confidence as a team to push boundaries and think outside-the-box, while also showcasing good leadership skills in the various localities they will be representing henceforth.
Akinbile-Yusuf noted that the underlying philosophy behind the leadership training was to groom the participants and harness their potentials for the overall development of the grassroots, Lagos State and Nigeria.
She stated that emerging as Ambassadors in their respective domains confers a certain responsibility on them like volunteering to render communal services to LCDAs, seeking charitable donations for the less privileged, mentoring and imparting other youths through their skills.
