Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have smashed nine suspected traffic robbers converging in group, with intent to commit felony at Cappa/NITEL compound at Oshodi area of the state.
The suspects are: Ismail Tosin, 23; Lukman Nojeem, 18; Segun Ade, 20; Rafiu Jamiu, 29; Lateef Yusuf, 28; Mabinuola Wale, 20; Taiwo Hazan, 19; Adeleke Oluwasegun, 17; and Adeniji Saliu, 18.
Operatives from Mushin Division were said to have mobilised to the scene on August 13 around 11a.m. and arrested the suspects.
Among the exhibits recovered from them are: one locally made riffle with inscription S.S.C, one long jack knife and cutlasses.
The gang, according to the police, is responsible for series of robberies mostly in traffic around CAPPA-Oshodi and its environs.
Reacting to their arrest, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, assured newsmen that the suspects would be charged to court.
