Again, tragedy struck in Lagos on Friday night at Odo-Olowu Bus Stop, Ijesha, along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, after a 40ft container fell off a moving truck and crushed two yet-to-be identified adult females to death.
The incident, which occurred around 10:45p.m., was said to have occurred after the empty 40-foot container suddenly suffered brake failure and rammed into a stationed truck.
Emergency responders, it was gathered, arrived the scene, recovered the bodies of the victims and transferred them to a mortuary.
The Director-General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the incident, said its officials rescued the injured driver of the truck and transferred him to a hospital.
“Sadly, two adult females lost their lives and their remains have been transported by State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) to the mortuary,” Oke-Osanyintolu revealed.
