It is no longer news that Nollywood star actress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Jandor’s running mate, Funke Akindele a.k.a Jenifa was attacked by thugs.
The actress was allegedly attacked and chased out by hoodlums at Ikosi fruit market in Lagos on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023.
The incident happened when the screen star led her party members to campaign in the popular fruit market located in Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area.
However, speaking on the incident, the Lagos PDP Spokesperson, Hakeem Amode, said; “Ikosi-Isheri LCDA chairperson sent the thugs to disturb our campaign.
“Usually when we go to the market, Funke Akindele goes to the market to speak with the market women, and we know it is our right to be able to talk freely, a campaign to anybody.
“The local government chairperson came into the market, used her car to block and brought a bunch of thugs to attack us in Ikosi Isheri LCDA, which is very, very sad; it is unbelievable we are not allowed to speak to people freely.
“Under the new electoral act, we are free to campaign anywhere; this is Lagos, where we should be able to talk to everybody without intimidation or discrimination. That should not even happen.”
