The body of a Lagos resident, Adeyemi Azeez, has been recovered in a lagoon in Alapere area of Lagos, after two days of search by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
Late Azeez who was 27 years old, resided at Community Avenue, Oshogun, in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, LCDA Alapere.
He was said to have accidentally fallen into the drain collector canal which leads to the lagoon, on January 1, 2024.
The Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, said information on the incident was received at about 8.56 pm on Monday, January 1, 2024, thereby prompting a swift response from the dedicated rescue crew at the Ikeja Fire Station
According to her, “After two days of intensive search and rescue operations Mr Azeez’s body was recovered on Wednesday, January 3,2023, at approximately 4:05pm.
“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Azeez during this difficult time. The recovered body has been promptly handed over to the Alapere Police Division for further procedures.”
