• Emergency Units on ground to avoid another explosion
A tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) has on Friday morning crashed and spilling its content in the areas around Ishaga to Giwa bus stop inward Lagos and Ogun State.
Some of the areas the contents spilled to are: Abule-Ekun Village Ijoko-Akute Road in Ogun State.
The South-west Zonal Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, has appealed to residents to avoid cooking or using of naked fire in the affected areas.
He also cautioned motorcyclists and tricycle riders to avoid going to the community till operations are concluded.
While residents have been evacuated, content has been blanketed already to reduce its efficacy to explode. The zonal coordinator warned that until the transloading of the content from the crashed tanker to another is concluded, the environment is not safe.
According to Farinloye, it is advisable that residents don’t trope there to begin to scoop fuel, adding that this is to avoid another explosion.
