• Cautions on good conduct, professionalism
Ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Edo State, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has deployed 1,000 officers and men of the State Police command to complement other security personnel drafted for the September 19 election.
Odumosu, however, warned the deployed officers and men to adopt good conduct and be professional in discharging their duties before, during and after the elections.
The CP gave these instructions in a statement signed by the State PPRO, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday.
Odumosu further maintained the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police to sustain the core values of democracy in the country via free, fair, and credible elections.
The police boss hinted on the welfare packages for police personnel detailed for the Edo special duty as approved by the IGP to encourage and boost their morales.
Odumosu, who had earlier arranged clean, serviceable and executive buses to convey the personnel to Edo State with fully armed escort men, urged them to protect the lives and property of citizens and do away with any act that is capable of denting the image of the Force.
