Global Electricity firm, Schneider Electric, has taken a sensitisation campaign to marketers at the Alaba International Market, Lagos, on the need to maintain the sale of quality electrical products to avoid any form of disaster.
In a statement, the Managing Director of Schneider Electric, Christophe Begat, said the campaign became necessary because counterfeit products often jeopardised consumers’ health and safety.
He said, “Schneider Electric’s innovative approach to fostering engagement with partners has continued to create a positive impact for the energy brand, including its recent activation at Alaba International Market in Lagos, Nigeria. We tasked the community to report the actions of counterfeiters in order to put an end to illicit trade.
“The outreach programme was aimed at strengthening our relationship with partners and the market community. Schneider Electric takes partnerships seriously – it is absolutely critical to our success.
“The traders spoke on the dilapidating infrastructure in and around the market, especially the access roads which are significantly affecting their businesses.
“For our team to be at Alaba Market, it is our mission to ensure that our partners thrive, by understanding their needs and finding innovative ways to help them work smarter, more efficiently and more collaboratively with us.”
Begat said the initiative, which began in 2014, had been transformative for both partners and the company, adding that Schneider Electric would continue to invest time and resources to contribute to the development, expansion, success and growth of small- and medium-scale enterprises.
According to the statement, highlights of the event included sharing of marketing materials to boost sales, sign-ups of new partners, presentations on Schneider’s unique selling points, amongst other interactive features.
