The Lagos State government has announced that the Modified Homegrown School Feeding Programme for households of pupils in public primary schools aged one and three across the state has been concluded.
The programme, which kicked off in Lagos on the May 21 this year, targeted targeted at 37,589 households of pupils in public primary schools aged one and three.
The Executive Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King, said immediately after the flag-off, distribution of the Take-Home Ration to households of pupils started in earnest at 202 centres across the 20 LGAs in the state.

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Ikeja, Lagos has allegedly endangered the lives of residents of Ejigbo area of the state after deadly snakes and wild animals haboured within their premises went berserk and attacked people.
According to reports, FAAN had neglected the premises for about 15 years. That resulted in overgrown weed causing thick bushes inside their fenced premises.
Some eye witnesses had said that residents harmed were being treated at the hospital for snake bites and wild animals attack.
The wild animals, they said, attacked buildings close to FAAN fence. They included: the Ejigbo Magistrates Court, Primary School, Amakiyo Police Station, Jubril Olabisi Street, Lafenwa.
Confirming the unfortunate development, the Chairman of one of CDAs, Alhaji Lamonu Giwa, who said they had written to the Management of FAAN, copied the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Ejigbo LCDA, Chairman and Traditional Ruler of Ejigbo kingdom.
In the letter dated May 27 this year addressed to the Managing Director of FAAN, titled: “Snake Invasion: Urgent Call For FAAN to Clear Bush Surrounding Houses At Ageke West LCDA”, it called on the Management of FAAN to clear the thick bushes within the fence.
The letter further notified them of the bush they had failed to clear in over 15 years which had posed serious health hazards to the community.
It stated that due to neglect, all kinds of reptiles especially snakes of different sizes and other dangerous animals were ravaging and threatening the lives of residents. “Residents are frequenting hospitals for treatment of snake bites and attack by other dangerous animals in the area.”
The letter read thus: “Therefore, we are using this medium to call FAAN and those responsible for clearing of the bushes to save Ejigbo Community further attacks by this wild animals.”
