…List names of imposters
The General Manager, Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory (LSMTL), Dr. Abiodun AFolabi, has warned residents in the state to be weary of fraudsters impersonating its officials to extort money from owners and developers on construction sites.
The impersonators as provided include: Mr. Steven Kagode; Mr. Adebowale Tosin; and Mrs. Modupeola.
This was contained in a press release shared on a Twitter handle, @Gboyegaakosile, Tuesday, as it emphasised on zero tolerance for all forms of impersonation of LSMTL staff.
According to the statement, it expressed determination to sanitise the built environment and ensure that materials utilised for building purposes stand the test of time.
“We have received numerous complaints that criminally-minded individuals have been posing as government officials in a bid to extort developers and innocent members of the public under the guise of conducting illegal building tests,” Afolabi bemoaned.
He said, “The Agency has put up surveillance machinery to apprehend some of those behind the scene. Our trap has already caught three of the impostors: Mr. Steven Kagode; Mr. Adebowale Tosin and Mrs. Modupeola, last Thursday at Igando.
The GM, however, reiterated that the state government would do everything within its power to eradicate the menace and restore sanity to the built environment.
