A medical professional in the Lagos University Teaching Hospital has emerged the new Chair, Nigerian Medical Association (Lagos Chapter).
The newly elect Chairman is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, Dr. Adetunji Adenekan.
The association’s former secretary, Dr Ramon Moronkola, announced that Adenekan defeated 1,059 other medical doctors, in the elections, which held at the Sports Complex of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba, on Aug. 6.
The Nigerian Medical Association is a professional association for registered Nigerian doctors and dentists, elects its leaders biennially.
Moronkola mentioned other l elected officers as Dr Tajudeen Salau, of the General Hospital, Lagos (1st Vice Chair) and Dr Joy Agbara of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, (Second Vice-Chair).
Also, Dr. Ime Okon, Head, Community Health Department, General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye, was elected as Secretary, while Dr Adegboyega Akintola, was elected as Deputy Secretary.
