A 25-man squad made up of 15 athletes and 10 officials representing Team Nigeria at the seventh Commonwealth Youth Games, which begins today in Trinidad and Tobago, have assured that Nigeria is ready to win medals at the event that ends on August 11.
The team has landed in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to participate in the 7th Commonwealth Youth Games.
According to Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) Secretary-General, Tunde Popoola, the country will feature in athletics, cycling, swimming and para-athletics.
The athletes will compete in sprint, long-distance races, swimming, cycling and para-athletics.
According to Popoola, the athletes are eager to showcase their talents on an international stage and make their country proud.
He said that the Commonwealth Youth Games village is buzzing with energy as athletes from not less than 69 different nations, countries and territories are camped together, united by their passion for sports.
