Men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) attached to the Lagos State Police Command have busted 28 years old Emeka Okun, notorious for stealing inverter batteries from telecommunication companies in Ajah area of the state.
Okun was arrested at Arena Market in Oshodi on Monday July 27 at 10a.m following information SARS operatives received. He was arrested with a large number of inverter batteries in a vehicle, as revealed by the police.
The suspect, however, confessed to have burgled into a telecommunication sites at Ajah where he stole the inverter batteries.
It was revealed that the suspect and others at large are of the habit of stealing back-up batteries belonging to telecommunication companies in Ajah and its environs.
According to the State Police Boss, Hakeem Odumosu, investigation is in progress.
“The suspect will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded,” he noted
