A team of four operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on Wednesday stripped Davido’s Public Relations Officer, Dre, naked, assaulted and pulled him aggressively like a notorious criminal at Ikota, Lekki area of Lagos State.
As seen in a video that has since gone viral, Dre was being manhandled by the four-armed SARS men, whose sonorous voices were intimidating and authoritative.
While the officers stripped Dre naked before actress Abike in broad daylight, the actress cried profusely, calling for help to save Dre, who allegedly got a taste of the officers’ electroshock weapon.
In the video, one of the SARS men ordered, “Collect that phone!” Abike, with a trembling voice, screamed boldly, “I’m not giving you my phone”.
As bystanders approached the disturbing scene to intervene, she decried and explained, “Look at what they are doing to Dre. What did he do? You will just be beating people anyhow.”
According to Abike, she fought her way to ensure the officers would not take her phone, adding that “they used the electroshock weapon on Dre”.
Sadly, it was to curtail the excesses and alleged monstrous display of SARS men that the former Lagos Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, was appointed as the new Federal SARS boss.
Consequently, to check the excesses of operatives, Edgal shared hotlines for residents to call and report such criminal treatment from men of SARS, who are created specifically to go after notorious robbery and cult cases across the country.
The numbers to call are: 08121226468, 08081911644, 09095097307, 08055911306 and 08062856290 for any complaints.
