The Nigerian airspace is likely to experience a delay against its initially announced August 29 date of resumption as noted by the Ministry of Aviation a week ago.
The Ministry of Aviation made this disclosure in a meeting with airlines today Monday in Abuja, where it said it could not give airlines the go-ahead till Thursday August 27.
Addressing the airline operators, the Ministry of Aviation said it would give airlines the guidelines on which countries can come into Nigeria is restricted in the main time.
Although the ministry said flights would still resume on Saturday April 29, what it is saying is that the ministry would give airlines more details about where people can fly from.
The ministry further hinted that the validity for the PCR test must be under seven days for anyone coming into Nigeria.
Reacting to the uncertainty of the resumption date, airlines complained that Thursday is too long for them to wait to get a confirmation, since the first flight is meant to come on Saturday.
The airlines further suggested to the ministry that they would need an earlier confirmation so it is easier for them to handle logistics.
