The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, SAN, has on Monday announced that LASU students will resume in batches.
The VC said students in 400, 500 and 600 levels will resume before others with intensive lectures holding between 9a.m. and 3p.m. as revealed in a radio programme on EkoFM, 89.7 on Monday August 31.
Although the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had noted that tertiary institutions will reopen from September 14 this year Fagbohun did not mention the date of resumption for its students.
He, however, hinted that lectures would hold on the university campus, adding that students in 200 and 300 levels will resume two months before the start of their examinations.
His words, “A gradual phasing has been done for our students’ resumption. Students from 400 to 600 levels will resume for a duration of two months with an intensive lecture starting from 9a.m. to 3p.m. for those that reside off-campus.”
The VC continued resumption of the students in 200 and 300 levels is divided into different days of the week.
He listed, “On Mondays and Wednesdays, 300-level students will be on campus for lectures. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, 200-level students will be on campus.”
He said it was in an effort to maintain social distancing and to protect its students and the staff, too.
He adds, “In line with the NCDC requirement for medical facilities, LASU has a COVID-19 team to keep the university on toes in ensuring compliance.”
