A Nigerian environmentalist, Comr. Franklin Magada has warned Nigerians to prepare ahead of a looming flood disaster in the country.

The environmental activist, Magada called on State Governments and cooperate organizations across the Niger Delta region to start preparing for the impending flood and the allege unusual rain fall that is coming this year that is being projected and forecasted by the Nigeria Hydrological board in their maiden briefing this year (2020) sometime ago in February.

Franklin Magada also hinted The Lagos Today  that experts should be timely engaged to role out the five (5) key Flood Risks Management Cycle which according to him are; 1. Prevention 2. Awareness 3. Protection 4. Preparedness 5. Restoration, to curb the level of impact on lives, properties and the environment.

In his words:  “As humans we are all visual pollution monitors hence the concern for the environment is as important as the breath of fresh air. Because even in the Bible days environment and risk management was a series of concern hence the building of the Noah’s ark as a way of preparedness, protection and restoration.”

On his part, the Director of Niger Delta Environmental Monitors announced his promise to do his bid as part of flood risks management had set up and and kick-started the Niger Delta Flood Awareness Frontiers with a call on well meaning youths to join the league as volunteers as part of community service.

Meanwhile, Comr. Franklin had  urged state governments across the Niger Delta region to engage the service of Niger Delta Flood Awareness Frontiers in dealing with this impending menace.
