The Medical Director of Alimosho General Hospital, Dr Ayodapo Soyinka, has said the multi-million naira facilities and leadership structure introduced by the hospital will ensure quality service delivery for residents.
Soyinka said this, according to a statement on Wednesday, during the fourth stakeholders’ forum of the hospital, themed, ‘Surpassing patients’ expectation,’ in Igando.
He said, “In three months, the hospital has entrenched a leadership culture that is responsive, functional, effective and dynamic at all layers of management.
“We have also introduced appointments as pilot studies in paediatrics and medicine outpatients, with an intention to create efficiency in delivering health services.
“The hospital has also embarked on multi-million facilities that would aid effectiveness of service delivery, with the introduction of temporary casualty extension, opening of a diabetes centre, urology clinic, private wards and gastro-intestinal endoscopy, among others. Spaces in the hospital have also been earmarked for a world class Sickle Cell centre and mortuary facilities.”
The Chief Executive Officer, Monitor Healthcare Limited, Dr Femi Ogunremi, noted that good communication between medical practitioners and their patients is key to effective delivery.
“Before a hospital can surpass patients’ expectations, such expectations must be well-known and simplified. Good communication is also a key working tool for practitioners when dealing with their patients.
“Doctors and other medical personnel are implored to pay much attention to the expectations of patients and attend to their needs respectfully and in a polite manner,” he said.
