Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau (LASRAB) is set to hold a two-day specialised training for Archivists and Registry Officers across Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Lagos State from today, Wednesday, September 23 to Thursday 24 this year.
According to the Director-General of the Agency, Mrs. Bilikis Adebiyi-Abiola, the essence of the training is to expose the participants, drawn from Registry Departments in General Hospitals and other health facilities across the state to global best practices in information management and innovative storage of medical records of patients and clients.
With the theme “Designing the Records and Archives for Efficient and Effective Service Delivery” she stated that medical record keeping is an integral part of caregiving and, such a delicate responsibility should be treated with the deserved expertise and innovation, stressing that quality medical record-keeping enhances a safe and effective healthcare delivery system.
Adebiyi-Abiola further stated that the training is in conformity with the present administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda in the area of Health for the overall well-being of the people in Lagos State.
She, however, noted that due to the prevalent COVID-19 pandemic situation and the physical distancing rule, the training will hold virtually via webinar on the Zoom platform.
According to the DG, the erudite scholars and professionals in the field of records and archives management would be on hand as facilitators during the webinar to treat diverse modules that cover all aspects of the theme for robust knowledge sharing, in order to promote efficient service delivery for the benefit of all Lagosians.
Recall that a similar edition of the training, the first in the series, took place in March 2020 with participants from selected Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Lagos State.
