Nigeria Born Spanish midfielder, Vicky Lopez, who helped her country defend its title at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup has won the Best Player of the Tournament Award.

The Spaniard was born to a Spanish father and a Nigerian mother.

The 16-year-old received praise for her outstanding performance throughout the competition, particularly for playing a crucial part in Spain’s 1-0 victory over Colombia in the final on Sunday in Mumbai.

A statement from FIFA’s official website reads: “Vicky impressed in every match with her ability to read the game, as well as her technical quality, dribbling and winning mentality.

“From the first match to the last, she showed that she is not only an outstanding individual player but also one willing to fight for her team.”

Meanwhile, the Germans were seen celebrating their bronze medal at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup by dancing with Nigeria’s Flamingos despite the fact that they lost to them.

The Press Nigeria earlier reported that Nigeria’s Flamingos U17 women’s football team defeated Germany to claim bronze at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in India.

The team partied in the hotel lobby shortly after the victory while dancing to Kizz Daniel’s Cough, a top trending song.
